JOB DESCRIPTION

DESCRIPTION

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments, verifies the quantity of items received, and prepares items for shipment. Applicant should be computer literate and able to use email, excel, Dymo Label, UPS, and Syteline software. This position requires forklift certification. Coordinates with Inventory Control to ensure cycle counts are completed and inventory levels are maintained according to production needs.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

1. Attendance, present at scheduled shift to perform essential functions.

2. Utilizes Syteline ERP Software to track inventory and other products as required.

3. Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

4. Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stamps, stencils, glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.

5. Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.

6. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with the shipper to rectify damages and shortages.

7. Routes items to departments.

8. Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.

9. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

10. Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.

11. Maintain working relationships with all levels within the company.

12. May be required to use a computer-generated PICK list to ensure production efforts are met.

13. Other work as assigned.

 

CONDITIONS

1. Hours per day – 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, with opportunities for overtime.

2. Work Breaks – 2 10-minute breaks daily, 1 morning and 1 afternoon. 30-minute lunch break.

3. Work performed while

a. Sitting – 5%

b. Standing – 95%

c. Kneeling, Bending, Stooping, Pushing, Pulling – 35%

d. Lifting

Light – 1-15 pounds – frequently

Medium – 16-45 pounds – Frequently

*Any lifting over 50 lbs. requires assistance or use of a mechanical device.

5. Carrying distance – Up to 25 feet frequently.
